| Player's comments: | Manuel Ortega was born on the 8th of April 1980
in Steyregg (Upper-Austria). His mother Carmen comes from Spain (Sevilla) and Manuel
decided to use her surname for his music-career. The first great success of Manuel was his
victory at a boyband-casting in Austria, where he triumphed over 1500 other participants.
The boyband 'Whatz Up' had some success in Austria in the next 2 years. His first solo-single was 'El Amor La Vida' in the summer of 2001 and Manuel Ortega was in the charts for about 20 weeks. Manuels next goal was to represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn. We all know, that he made it to Estonia, although his scoring was nothing to shout about. But his single 'Say A Word' was his biggest hit so far here in Austria. |
