| Player's comments: | Vanna's real name is Ivana Ranilovic Vrdoljak and today she is one of the most popular female artists in Croatia. Vanna was born on 1st September 1970 in Koprivnica, Croatia. She went singing in different choirs during her childhood. At the beginning of 90s she moved to Croatia's capital Zagreb and almost immediately went from an unknown name to huge popstar. In early 90s Vanna was part of then very popular dance group E.T. what helped her a lot in her career. Since mid 90s she performs solo and turned to even greater star than before. Latest years Vanna decided to take part in some of Croatian festivals what resulted in 2 victories on ZadarFests (2000 with 'Pomozi mi sad' and 2001 with 'Vise nisi moj'), one 2nd place on Dora 2000 Croatian selection for Eurovision Song Contest with 'Kao rijeka' and finally a 2001 victory at the same selection with 'Strings of my heart'. Victory at Dora 2001 gave her a ticket for Copenhagen and Eurovision Song Contest 2001 where she finished 10th. Vanna has published several CD albums and her latest one from 2001 is called '24 sata' ('24 hours'). Vanna is married, has 2 children, a boy and a girl, and currently lives in Zagreb. |
