Player's comments: Axelle Red was born Fabienne Demal on February 15, 1968 to Hasselt, in Flanders in the North of Belgium. French-speaking Flemish woman raised in an environment neerlandophone, she speaks and sings in both languages. Her parents rock her in the sound of the big artists of music soul and among others Aretha Franklin who will remain one of its idols.
Teenager, she practises intensely the dance, and learns by heart all the tubes of the Swedish group Abba.
racked down at the age of 15 years, in 1983 , she records the first one 45 tours, " Little Girls " who makes of her a star in Belgium. Of entrance, this title is classified in the national top 50.
Two years later, the English guitarist Mick Ronson, the musician of David Bowie, wishes to meet and to produce Axelle Red having listened to a model. But further to the refusal of the English label of Mick Ronson, Redbus, to
pursue this collaboration, the project fails.
The next years are for Axelle Red the years of law studies but also theater, studies were interrupted in 1988 by the signature of the singer at BMG.
The brother Seff, Daniel and Richard, write her the title " Kennedy Boulevard " which is golden disc in Belgium. In 1989, she renews this success with the title " Aretha et moi".
In 1992, she changes house of discs and sign with Virgin Belgique. She begins then to write an album, and dedicates itself rather to texts. The simple first one, " She dances only ", goes out before the album.
Finally, in September, 1993, the Axelle Red's first album goes out "Sans plus attendre" which makes known her definitively outside Belgium. Tinged with soul and of rythm' not blues, the first one simple "Sensualite" is a hit in France.
Both following extracts are " Elle danse seule" and " Je t'attends " but in some months, the sales of the album exceed those of the simple in the European and Quebecois classifications. The disc becomes quintuple golden disc in Belgium ( 500.000 copies), completely historic score for this country.
The tours multiply, Axelle shows to be true one artist of scene. Festivals rock in the festivals of variety show (Francofolies of La Rochelle 1994), the success is unmistakable.
Axelle Red, who continues to write texts, goes to 1995 to realize one of her dreams: record in Nashville's studios, in the United States, mythical homeland of the country music and the rock 'n' roll.
In October, 96, the second album goes out so, " A tatons". More than ever faithful in music soul, Axelle Red   surrounded on this stars' album of the kind, among which Steve Cropper, legendary composer of the " Dock of the bay " of Otis Redding, or Isaac Hayes.
At the end of 1997, Axelle Red is chosen with the Senegalese Youssou N' Dour to sing the hymn of the world cup of football. Both artists interpret the title, " La cour des grands", for the first time on December 11, 97 in Oslo on the occasion of the delivery of the Nobel prize of the Peace.
On March 21, 1998, she marries in Marrakesh in Morocco, her manager Filip Vanes, whom she knows since the faculty of right. Then on June 8, Axelle takes out an album in Spanish, " Con Solo Pensarlo". She resumes there former titles adapted in Spanish by Ignacio Ballesteros. Two days later, this fanatic of football meets himself at the stage of France in Paris, together with Youssou N' Dour for the opening of the World cup of football. The event is broadcast in worldwide television broadcast.
The end of 98, While its first album reaches 400.000 sold copies, one books 370.000 sold copies of " A tatons ". At the same moment, this fan of soul music, realizes his dream of always, to sing with the most legendary figures of the kind. It is thing done on November 16 on the Parisian scene of the Conference hall with the spectacle " The Soul of Axelle Red ". The young lady invited for this unique show of the stars as prestigious as Sam Moore (of Sam and Dave), Eddie Floyd or Percy Sledge.

On January 21 99, she gives birth to a small named girl Janelle. Happy mom, she does not nevertheless forget the music because she prepares a new album. The beginning of this year continues to take place under good auspices
because the young lady obtains on February 20, Victoire de la Musique of the interpreter of the year.
French-speaking Flemish woman, Axelle Red has the peculiarity to make career in both speech communities of Belgium. With tenderness and energy, and especially without ever leaving aside her mother tongue, she knew how to

Renaud is born Renaud Sechan, on May 11, 1952 in Paris in the XIV eme district, at the same time as a twin brother, David. The family counts in all six children. Their father is a professor of German, and an author of police novels. It is even stemming from a family of old Protestant tree stump he. Their mother is native of an environment proletarian of the North of France. They live in Paris in a modest but comfortable apartment.
The schooling of Renaud is not brilliant. Indeed, dices the elementary school, he does not show a strong envy(urge) to work. The situation does not arrange during its entry to class of 6Eme(grad in the french school). Only the subjects as the Drawing and the Frenchman interest the young pupil. With one of his friends accordionist, Michel, they begin to do the sleeve in the streets of Paris. They meet a frank success with the young people and even of the oldest who see in this duet the flourish of the song of street.
The producer of Coluche, Paul Lederman notices them one day when they came to do the sleeve in front of the line of a spectacle of the humorist, which begins to have certain success. He engages them in fact, under the name of "
Trois p'tits loulou" (the another accomplice came to strengthen the duet) as attraction in " Caf' Conc " new cafe with live theatre which he opens on Champs Elysees. Their directory is constituted by realistic songs. Then the friend Michel should join the army and abandons Renaud who continues only, to sing to this place, from now on with its own compositions: "Hexagone" or " Camarade bourgeois". Not specially intended for singer's career, Renaud points nevertheless out by a producer of an independent house of discs which suggests him recording one 33 tours.
In 1975, the first album of the singer goes out so which is only 23 years old. "Lover de Paname" collects songs which he sang to there in the street. Printed by the revolutionary ideas of 68, the young singer expresses certain
short the bowl of the society such as it is in the 70s and evokes especially a way of living to " Paname " (Paris in jargon) and obviously in suburb, real theater of all the adventures. The title " Societe tu m'auras pas"

In spite of this rising success, Renaud always dreams to do the actor. In 77, he plays every evening Martin Lamotte's detail " Le secret de Zonga " in Paris at the same time as it continues to sing to Whites - coats (ex-pizza).
In October, he takes out his second album " Laisse beton". In 78, this title becomes a tube and reveals him in very general public. Speak about it "Verlan", sort of coded jargon which inverts the syllables inside a word
becomes with this song, a phenomenon of society. His growing fame, Renaud triumphs in the festival of the Spring of Bourges in April. He is accompanied for the first time by a group of true musicians, a group Oze.
In January, 79 sees the release of the third album of the singer " Ma gonzesse ". Doubtless softer than the precedents, this opus seem more intimist with the song which gives the title to the album but also with " Chanson pour Pierrot ". In March, he sings 5 days, to the Theater of the City of Paris, which in this occasion posts(shows) suit. Renaud feels an enormous stage nerves when he is on scene but establishes a dialogue with public, full of humor and whim.
The year 80 is marked by the release of one 33 tours " Marche a l'ombre ". It contains titles become as famous as " Mon HLM " or " Les aventures de Gerard Lambert". He occurs then a whole month to Bobino in March, 80 to answer the expectation of his aficionados new. It gives place to the recording of the spectacle taken out in two discs: the double 33 tours " Live a Bobino " and also " Le p' tit ball du samedi soir" when it resumes the realistic songs which it sang to its debuts.
Having become a singer of middle-of-the-road popular songs little in spite of him, Renaud makes now left the new rising generation of the French song. Reaching around thirty, the singer takes all the same a little of drop with regard to his revolts of the beginning, and attempts more to depict what he sees or what he imagines of the life of some. With the album which goes out in 81 " Le retour de Gerard Lambert ", he denounced alternately the drug "

In 83, hardly of this serenity recently acquired, he takes out an album different from the precedents. The dress handkerchief is less hard and aggressive itself. It is likely that the birth of his daughter is a little changed its way of seeing things things. Of the blow songs seem also softer: " Morgane de toi" and " EN cloque ". More similar to the variety than to the rock - folk song of the debuts, this album knows an unprecedented success in the career of the singer. " Des que le vent soufflera " is an enormous hit which passes on all the radios. In fact it is about 1,2 million copies of the album that are sold in some months. Renaud is moreover at the end of contract at Polydor and this success allows him to sign an extremely advantageous contract with its new house of discs Virgin.
Real star in France, Renaud invests a new Parisian room, the Top from January 17 till February 5, 84. He makes then a tour which goes to Quebec. The activities do not loosen for all that after the release of the disc and its promotional tour. In 85, pushed by the singer Valerie Lagrange, he writes with his friend Franck Langolff, the hymn of the " Chanteurs pour l'Ethiopie". He is indeed the initiator of this operation who is intended to
harvest capital to fight against the famine in Ethiopia. More than a million of 45 tours are sold.
