from the double-CD "Geia" (released in January 2002) which reached a
five-time platin status in Greece! Some may say that this song is a bit risky because not
all participating jurors are Christians. Be sure that I submit this song because of the
relation with the cultural event of Christmas and only for that. Please don't connect that
with religional or national issues. Just enjoy this song of the great greek star called
Despoina Vandi. And some comments about the singer: Born in West Germany in 1969, Despoina
Bandi grew up in the greek town Kavala. She studied Phylosophy and Plycology in the
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. However, she started singing and she became a big
star in Greece, able to compete even the great Anna Vissi.
In winter 2001 she did a concert for children with cancer, profiting them
with over 100.000.000 drachmas (about 300.000 ?). She is certainly the most selling
greek singer of recent years. |
