Listen
To the voices
Trees are calling
Winds of Autumn

Golden
Leaves are falling
In the valley
Fairies merry

When the winds call my name
And the breeze plays the game
Seasons flow in one stream
Secret Garden of dreams

Calling
Sun is dawning
In a blue ring
Summers calling

Dropping
Dew is falling
Like a shower
On a flower

When the winds call my name
And the breeze plays the game
Seasons flow in one stream
Secret Garden of dreams

(instrumental)

Gliding
Angels flying
On the white wings
Perfect timing

Open
Secret Garden
Reach my inner
Realm of dreams

Player's comments:
'Fomm il-Vjolin' is the winner of the Malta International Song Festival 2001. It is still considered as one of the top favourites with the local public. Georgina herself says that she has never had a song which was requested so much by her audiences. You can watch the live-performance here.
Georgina (full name: Georgina Abela) is married to Maestro Paul Abela. Together they have written several good Maltese songs, some of which even reached the Eurovision Song Contest.
Georgina won the Malta Song for Europe 1991 together with Paul Giordimaina and their duet, 'Could it be'. The entry, composed by her husband Paul Abela, reached 6th place in Rome, Eurovision Song Contest 1991.
Georgina made it to Eurovision again in 1996, when she was one of the backing vocals to Miriam Christine's 'In a Woman's Heart'. Yet another entry composed by Paul Abela.
Yet another joint-effort by the Abela married-couple was 'Another Summer Night' by Fabrizio Faniello (Georgina's cousin) in 2001.
Georgina was placed 2nd and 3rd several times at the Malta International Song Festival. But it was only 'Fomm il-Vjolin' which gained her the winning place. Song was composed by Andrew Zahra to lyrics by Deo Grech (on picture above). This song was yet another feather for Zahra/Grech after winning prizes in several other contests such as 'Union's Melody', 'Youth Song Contest' and 'Malta Drydocks Singers Contest' during the past few years, 1999-2000. They are so far, the youngest songwriters who have won the Malta International Song Contest for the past recent years.
