Krezip - Promise
Country - Netherlands Player - Ruben
Sometimes, somewhere you try to hide your mind for good You know it ain't fair but you're just misunderstood Now try, just try to say What's on your mind Chorus Promise that you will say Promises made so I'll just wait Promise that you will tell me So you took it on, so you took it home And there we go again So you took it on and there I tried to see why this is not me I'll try, I'll try to see What's on your mind |
Chorus Promise that you will say Promises made so I'll just wait Promise that you will tell Why don't you
know, why can't you see |
Player's comments: | On April 26-th the band celebrated its fifth
anniversary. On that day, five years earlier, the band had given their first show at the
regional leg of the Kunstbende competition. It is only age and school obligations
that stand in the way of an explosive development of the band. It is for this reason also
that the band's first release, the CD demo 'Run Around', appears as a private release
somewhere in 1999. This CD features the live-hit 'In Her Sun' which is adopted by the
Dutch radio-audience. The band's music is based on energy in all its possible variants. The band touches punk-rock in its more solid outbursts while it is capable of holding back the energy in its laid back melodious songs. The power of this Tilburg band is in its diversity, its energy and, last but not least, its dynamics. This and the overwhelming enthusiasm of the band, headed by "Jumping' Jacqueline" Govaert, results in exciting and remarkable shows. These diverse high-energy shows brought Krezip fame in Holland and Belgium. Dutch top-producer Oscar Holleman succeeded really well in capturing the band's energy on Krezip's first album 'Nothing Less'. All the songs on this album are originals. All the lyrics are written by Jacqueline, the compositions are true band products. They combine the talents of all the members. Apart from Jacqueline these are drummer Thijs Romeijn, bass-player Joost van Haaren, guitarist Anne Govaert and keyboard-player/singer Annelies Kuijsters. Their national breakthrough came with the PinkPop 2000 show. The single 'I Would Stay' - recorded live at this festival - was THE Summerhit of 2000. Shortly after PinkPop Krezip appeared at Torhout/Werchter and conquered Belgium. 'Nothing Less' sold more than 300,000 copies. Krezip topped many of the Dutch end-of-year charts in 2000. And now there is the new album: Days Like This. It was released in Holland on October 15. The album tour takes the band through Holland and Belgium in November and December. The new website www.krezip.nl was launched on the day of the CD-release.
