| Players' comments: | Born in 1964 / Istanbul.. Had a successful education in Istanbul State Music School as a young soprano. Joined Sezen Aksu ( queen of Turkish pop ) team as a back-vocalist. With her big support , she released her first album in 1990 "Sakin ol" ( Be cool ).. 1994 Lâ'l ( Red ) and 1997 Sertab Gibi had sold around 2,5 millions. 1999 album is the most meaningful one, as all Turkey cried with the lyrics of 'Vur Yuregim' on the terrible eartquake. She also had many remarkable duets with international stars such as 1998 Jose Carreras and 1999 Ricky Martin "Private Emotion". She also made a duet with "Voice Male" ( Belgium Acapella band ) .. single called "Zor Kadyn" ( Strong Woman ) which released all around Europe. In 2000 summer, she released a maxi single which includes a Greek-Turkish duet with Mando. "Ask / fos" ( Love / light ) was a big summer-hit both in Turkey and Greece. In 2001 , she released her last album "Turuncu"( Orange colour ) which had a very successful dance hit Kumsalda (On Beach).. Next year, this song will also be released in France with French version. By the end of 2001, Sertab released a Xmas single which everybody danced with that song all the year long.. 'Yeni Ask' ( New Love ) . Turkish ESC Comittee has just announced that Sertab will represent Turkey on ESC 2003. |
