Evelyn Tan (or Chan Yuit Yin) was born on 7th October 1974 in Singapore. Her OSC8 entry "Together" was the Sing Singapore 1999 song, which represents a festival held in Singapore every summer. She attended Chung Cheng High School and went onto achieve a degree in Maths in the NUS (National University of Singapore). She first shot to fame in Star Search 1997. Although she didn't reach the finals, she become a huge success in her native Singapore singing and acting. She has appeared in such shows like A Place Called Home, Tuition Fever, The Medical Files, Beauty World, Return of the Condor Heroes and My Teacher Aiyoyo.
